Mass Maharaja Raviteja’s Sarocharu under the banner Three Angels Studios produced by Priyanka Dutt and Parasuram is directing the film. This isParasuram’s second film with Raviteja after Anjaneyulu. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Vijay K Chakravarthi is the cinematographer. Kajal and Richa Gangopadhyay are acting as the female leads in the movie. Raviteja pinned high hopes on Sarocharu since his recent movies tasted stroke at BO, hope he gets back into form with a top HIT.
Every girl has a dream about the person with whom she has to spend rest of her life. The film has two beautiful girls and it depicts their dreams, aspirations and ambitions and what they did to fulfill them. They are smitten by a football coach and he will become ‘saar‘ for only one girl.
Sandhya (Kajal) falls in love with Karthik (Ravi Teja) at first sight. She expresses her love to him on the way back journey to India. Karthik decently declines her proposal, revealing some facts about his past and his relation with Vasudha (Richa). Will Sandya understand Vasu-Karthik’s love and leave Karthik? Forms the rest of the storyline…
The film boasts of a pretty impressive star cast but the actors can barely live up to their true abilities with poorly written roles. Some of them seem to have taken their roles too lightly as well. Raviteja is clearly out of sync as software professional Karthik and desperately tries to bring in his own signature style in a classy way. Nara Rohit in a guest role and he is visibly uninterested in the proceedings. It’s a comeback movie forRicha in Telugu after Raviteja’s Mirapakaay (2011). Richa is there only for two songs and a small flash back episode. Though she looks terrible in her looks, Performance- wise she did her bit as required.. Kajal role is an extension of some of her earlier characters, with a different touch.
The script by Parasuram goes on almost similar lines of Tollywood hit like Darling. Parasuram, who has directed some fine crafted movies in the past, seems to have opted for a rather convenient shortcut to success, with this one. The main problem could be the style of making, which would have been fine, may be 2-3 years back.
Music of the film is average. Background score reminds us of Manmadhudu, Bommarilu scores by DSP. Cinematography is adequate. Editing should have been better. Dialogues are okay.
Survi Verdict: The story idea is good. But the director didn’t adapt it onto the screen properly. A better screenplay and an interesting narration would have helped the movie to reach the crowds effectively. Sarocharu turns out to be a major disappointment from a decent director like Parusuram. The film tests your patience in a big way and ends up as a colossal bore, no less. Skip in theaters!!
