Salman Khan has become a phenomenon in the past few years. His fan following has grown unprecedentedly and off late, he is making sure that he does films which cater only to his fans and family audience. If Dabangg made him much bigger star, Salman is now back with its sequel Dabangg 2. Only change from the first is that his brother Arbaaz Khan has directed Dabangg 2. Also starring Sonakshi Sinha, the film had a humungous release all over India today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
Chulbul Pandey(Salman Khan) is promoted and transferred to Kanpur. He lives with his wife Rajjo(Sonakshi Sinha) father, Prajapati Pandey(Vinod Khanna) and brother Makkhi(Arbaaz khan) and spends some happy times with his family. On the other hand Baccha Bhaiya(Prakash Raj) is a shrewd politician, who dominates Kanpur city with his evil deeds.
Chulbul Pandey, who is appointed to demolish Baccha Bhaiiya’s evil empire, slowly but steadily starts eradicating his illegal activities, causing a lot of anguish to Baccha Bhaiyya. An angry Baccha then plans a revenge and causes a huge personal loss to Chubul Pandey. What is that personal loss? and How does Chulbul Pandey retaliate to his loss? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Dabangg 2 is an out and out Salman Khan film. He plays it to the masses, and his fans are simply going to love him to the core. Salman is funny, witty and plays his character perfectly. He looks dashing in action sequences and mouths funny one liners throughout the film. One can say Salman has moved into the zone where everything he does gets applauded form the crowd. Sonakshi Sinha looks ravishing and shares a sizzling chemistry as his wife.
Comedy scenes between Salman and his father Vinod Khanna are hilarious. Kareena Kapoor looks dead drop gorgeous and sets the screen on fire in Fevicol Se. Romantic scenes between Salman and Sonkshi have been neatly designed. Dabangg 2 has a lot of entertaining factors which will surely draw the family crowds to the theaters.
Minus Points:
The plot of the movie is exactly similar to Dabangg, only change being the city where all this happens is changed. Arbaaz Khan’s character does not have much importance in the film. Some over the top action scenes might not be liked by all.
Confrontation scenes between Salman and Prakash Rak are lack luster. Prakash Raj’s dubbing doesn’t gel with the whole set up, causing minimum impact on the viewer. The whole look of the movie is similar to Dabangg, may be it should have a changed a bit as the story has moved to a bigger city.
Technical Aspects:
Music of the film is a big highlight. Though all the songs have the same concept of Dabangg, they are very entertaining. Fevicol Se and Pandeyji Seeti stand out, and have also been shot well. Choreography in Pandeyji Seethi is very unique as typical dance moves have been specially designed for Salman. Arbaaz Khan makes a rocking debut as the director, and never makes us feel like this is his first film.
He plays it safe and continues the film from where the first installment ended. Arbaaz adds more venom and some fun elements for the already popular Chulbul Pandey. Screenplay of the movie is gripping, and the whole movie is short and exactly to the point. Camera work is decent and shows the whole Kanpur city ethically.
Verdict:
On the whole, Dabangg2 is a out and out Salman Khan film. He his in his elements and his fans will only rejoice after watching the film. Salman has once again proved that there is no stopping him at the box office, which is going to see new records set. Finally Dabangg 2 is clean family entertainer with a strong dose of songs, comedy, action and romance. Don’t miss it.
Bollywood Rating : 3.5/5
Nonsense and below average movie. Please don't waste your hard earned money. Lack of good story and screenplay with mindless actions = Dabangg 2. Just to get a movie released in Christmas or Idd, Salman can do any idiotic movie with no Acting skills. Doesn't understand why he doesn't take piece of advice from Salim Khan who is much sensible and experienced writer. Salman doesn't quite have any understanding of a good cinema. Just few days back he was seen talking of women rights and on the other hand seen dancing on Fevicol song which is totally cheap and shows disrespect towards women.
