Natti Kumar bought Zanjeer remake rights for Rs 50 crore

Producer Natti Kumar who always fights for theaters for his small films has reportedly bagged the rights of the Thoofan (Zanjeer Telugu Version) film and is reported to be bought for Rs 50 crore.

Along with the all-India rights for the Telugu version ‘Thoofan’, the producer will also be allowed to release the Hindi version of ‘Zanjeer’ in AP since Nizam territory includes Marathwada, Aurangabad, Sholapur and other Hindi-speaking areas bordering Maharashtra.

Reliance Entertainment has managed this double whammy at a price that beats the cost of Ram Charan Tej’s Telugu films ‘Rachcha’ and ‘Nayak’, which were pegged at around Rs 40 to Rs 43 crore, the highest ever for a film.

“His Telugu hits like ‘Rachcha’ and ‘Nayak’ garnered more than Rs 42 crore and Rs 46 crore respectively, so we didn’t mind paying Rs 50 crore for the scion of Chiranjeevi family, whose market value is soaring by the day and this film has already created lot of buzz in AP,” said a source, close to the producer.

The Telugu version may be released in over 1,000 theatres in the state, while the Hindi version would be released in 200 theatres in the Nizam area including Marathwada, Aurangabad on June 14.
