Detail Analysis:
When Vishesh Films and Emraan Hashmi cometogether you always know what to expect. Little bit of sleaze, intimate scenes, hit music and complete entertainment. "Raaz 3" has all of that but the hit music.
Film revolves around Bipasha Basu who is a leading lady of Bollywood and her glory is threatened by upcoming actresses and so she is going through tough phase. Emraan Hashmi plays a director who is falling in love with new upcoming heroine played by Eshaa Gupta. How the black magic makes things complicated founds the rest of the story. And there are enough twists and turns to keep you interested especially the ones towards the end.
Film will appeal big time to single screen audience and will work in smaller centers which is always a case with horror genre. But the length of the film might be a deterrent for multiplex audience. Though presence of mass hysteria Emraan Hashmi will ensure bumper opening.
Performance wise this is a dream role for Bipsha Basu and she plays it to the perfection. She looks hot in scenes where it was required and her chemistry with Emraan to watch out for especially in one quite long intimate scene. Surprisingly Emraan Hashmi has not so great role but she stamps his trademark authority with his infectious charm and charisma. Eshaa Gupta needs a lesson in acting and diction and she is really as lively as wood.
Vikram Bhatt succeeds as director and uses 3-D technology very well to his advantage. Nodoubt, film looks a lot more impactful in 3D. There are at least 3 sequences which will make you jump in your seat. Story and screenplay have enough to keep the proceedings interesting except early part of 2nd half where film drags a bit.
For a change, film is not boast of a hit music and that is a rarity for Bhatts and Emraan Hashmi. Barring one song "Deewana Mujhe Kar Raha", all songs work as loo break and were unnecessary. Overall this is a film which will riding on the shoulder of Emraan Hashmi and typical masalaentertainment value of Bhatts.
